Xbox April update adds deeper console and PC customization

By Onyx Apple News Desk

Xbox published its April 2026 platform update with a clear focus on giving players more control over the surfaces they use every day.

The console side gets larger Home customization with support for up to ten pinned groups, a custom color picker, a dedicated Play History tab, and per-game Quick Resume settings for titles that behave better after a fresh launch. Xbox is also adding more visibility around cloud play through user-selected resolution settings and a network quality indicator.

PC players get a useful library pass: the Xbox app can manually add installed games or apps, pin favorites, use a controller-driven cursor for apps that expect a mouse, and move Game Bar notifications away from the action. The update also touches the Xbox mobile app with wishlist alerts and brings docking improvements to ROG Xbox Ally devices.

The broader signal is that Xbox is smoothing the path between console, Windows, cloud, and handheld play instead of treating them as separate lanes.
